The Virginia Soccer Alliance is proud to announce new member club, Rocktown Soccer Club.  Rocktown Soccer offers soccer programming for youth players in the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County area.  Fall 2023 teams are forming now with supplemental training programs offered through out the year.

Rocktown Soccer Club was founded in 2022.  Initially operating as an extension of sister club Augusta United,  Rocktown Soccer was able to establish a solid foundation for the program to build on and begin operating as a unique soccer club servicing it’s own unique community in 2023.  The club seeks to provide advanced level soccer programming for youth soccer players from the Harrisonburg area regardless socioeconomic status.  The club relies upon the wealth of coaching experience of founders Sarah Mitch and Tom Mitch.

“Rocktown Soccer is excited to offer excellent soccer experiences that are community based and accessible.  We know there is a lot of interest and talent in the Harrisonburg area, and we believe by partnering with the Virginia Soccer Alliance, we can service these players more effectively.  We want to be an option for all local players looking to progress in the game of soccer.” said Rocktown Soccer Director Tom Mitch.

Fall team programs, camps and clinics and other offerings are being formulated now.  Teams will compete in the Challenge program of the Virginia Soccer Alliance, which offers an advanced level of play with reasonable travel and expenses.  Managing player expenses and increasing accessibility to all members of the Harrisonburg community is a foundational value of the club.  Rocktown Soccer provides a high level experience to players while holding dear traditional values of a local community with shared responsibility and understanding.

The Virginia Soccer Alliance was formed in 2021 and seeks to unite the efforts of youth soccer clubs in the western region of Virginia.  The Alliance provides an economy of resources and ideas from which it’s member clubs may draw in order to serve their communities effectively.  Players who are a part of the alliance of clubs have the opportunity to not only compete locally for their unique community but have access to national and regional platforms that are often unattainable for communities of smaller size.
